WIPO Rules in Favor of OnlyFans in Slew of Trademark Domain Cases

GENEVA, Switzerland — The holder of the OnlyFans trademark has recently won several intellectual property cases at the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) against a number of sites allegedly engaging in infringement.

OnlyFans’ parent company, the London-based Fenix International Limited, was represented by the Walters Law Group.

Six different recent rulings by WIPO upheld Fenix International’s OnlyFans trademark in cases concerning domains registered with names that implied a connection to the popular premium fan platform.

Defendants with addresses in the U.S., Morocco, Algeria, Kazakhstan, Gibraltar and the Philippines were stripped of domain names onlyfansaccount.xyz, onlyfansbypass.xyz, onlyfanshack.cc, onlyfanshack.com, onlyfans-plus.club, onlyfansplus.xyz, onlyfanz.xyz, onlyfansfree.online, getonlyfanslikes.com, onlyfanslive.net, onlyfansgo.com and freeonlyfansleakedaccounts.com.

Fenix International also named in their actions the Panama-based online anonymity service WhoisGuard Protected/WhoisGuard Inc. and U.S.-based Whois Privacy Protection Service, Inc.

“OnlyFans has devoted substantial time and resources to establishing its brand name and protecting its intellectual property," said industry attorney Larry Walters from the Walters Law Group. "The company has launched an aggressive campaign against those who seek to infringe on its trademarks and copyrights, and these recent WIPO victories are part of that effort. OnlyFans will continue to monitor for infringement and take action against pirates and domain infringers.”

All rulings were in Fenix International’s favor and all infringing domains were ordered to be transferred to the company.
